The traveller from Kerala drives the first Indian-registered four-wheeler vehicle in Oman
Shakir Subhan alias Mallu traveler becomes the first to drive an Indian registered, right-handed vehicle in the Sultanate of Oman. Mallu traveller is the most popular Youtube travel Vlogger with more than 2.5 million subscribers. Set out on his venture to travel around the globe with family, he visits the Sultanate of Oman as the third country after U.A.E and India.
The Sultanate of Oman has strict guidelines regarding the importation of vehicles. Whether new or used, the owner must ensure that it meets local standards, be left-hand drive, and not older than seven years of date from manufacture. But, the recent policies adopted by the Sultanate to promote tourism as part of Vision 2040 ensure tourism-friendly approaches from the side of the authorities that have favoured the intention of Shakir Subhan alias Mallu traveller to become the first man to drive an Indian registered vehicle in Oman.
Shakir Subhan hails from Iritty, a local city located in Kerala. He became popular for his mind-blowing travel vlogs and itinerary activities, which have earned him more than 2.5 million subscribers on Youtube. He travelled through more than 40 countries and now plans a world Overlanding in his locally registered car with his family consisting of his wife and two young children.
The new policies adopted by the Sultanate of Oman to promote tourism are gaining wide popularity among various travellers. Recently, the Sultanate of Oman issued an eVisa for Indian citizens, which is currently beneficial for more than 60 different nationalities, that provides a single entry permit for 30 days or a multiple entry permit for a total stay of 30 days. The Vision 2040 of the Sultanate aims to attract more than five million international visitors in addition to same-day visitors and domestic tourists, making tourism one of the Sultanate’s most important revenue generators.
